Rare Volume designed a permanent, interactive entry exhibit for the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center that celebrates more than three centuries of New Orleans history. The exhibit is a video wall standing nearly 14 feet high, and stretching 28 feet wide.
We developed a system to render 4 different variations of each type of interactive content on the screen using a custom AfterEffects script to load content and adjust headlines and animations depending on the amount of text on the screen. To stay consistent with the design and to overcome limitations with font control in AE scripts, I also integrated a custom font and algorithm to properly display the headlines in the alternating extended/condensed font aesthetic.
